Other news...

  • Rev'd Elizabeth and Rev'd Deacon Peter Burren have now left the Haldon Mission Community to broaden their training opportunities elsewhere. Elizabeth is in the Haldon Hill Mission Community, a very rural benefice in the Teign Valley, with Rev'd Ruth Frampton.  Peter is working in chaplaincy roles at the RD&E hospital and Exeter University, and also at Unlimited Church in Exeter.  We wish them all the very best in their respective ministries and look forward to seeing them around town as they’ll still be living in Teignmouth.

  • Mission Community Office: Please contact Rev'd Carol or Rev'd Dave.  The office telephone (07494 222848) and email (This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.) continue to be monitored.

  • The post of Mission Community Administrator is now being advertised. Please click or tap here for more details. Closing date: Tuesday 7 Jan 2025.

  • Mickey's: Bumps, Babies and Toddlers Group restarts this week on Thursday 9th.

  • Safeguarding Training will take place on Monday 13 January in the Bowden Room at the Teign Valley Community Hall, Village Rd, Christow, Exeter EX6 7WA, and will cover the Basic and Foundation modules for any PCC members who need to take or renew them. The training takes about 2.5 hours including a break: arrival 9.45 for a 10am start; finish 12.30pm. The Rev’d Marisa Cockfield will lead the session. After the session those from this Mission Community who attend should let Sue Harvey know, giving the date of the training, so the parish Safeguarding Dashboards can be updated.

  • St James' to Santiago: St James' church at 2.30pm on Sunday 26 Jan 2025. An illustrated talk on the historic links between St James' church in Teignmouth and the great pilgrimage route to the shrine of St James' in Santiago de Compostela in Galicia in Northern Spain. Entrance free but donations, to St James' Roof and Lantern repair fund, will be appreciated. Refreshments will be available.
