St Michael's is an inclusive church - we welcome all.

Following discussion, St Michael's PCC have decided to adopt the following statement:

"We believe in an Inclusive Church - church which does not discriminate on any level, including: economic power, gender, mental health, mental ability, physical ability, race or sexuality. We believe in a Church which welcomes, accepts and serves all people in the name of Jesus Christ; which is scripturally faithful; which seeks to proclaim the Gospel afresh for each generation; and which, in the  power of the Holy Spirit, allows all people to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Jesus Christ."

This statement was developed by St James & Emmanuel Anglican Church (opens in new window) in Manchester following the suicide of a fourteen year old member of their church. Their statement, worked out over a considerable period of debate and discussion is one which has been adopted by many other churches across the country and one that we as a PCC are both supportive of, and are happy to adopt as part of our own outreach and mission to the community of Teignmouth.
